consumer behavior research projects
Motor City S.T.E.A.M
Motor City S.T.E.A.M is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for Detroit-based minority and underprivileged students in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Founded by Dr. Alecia Gabriel, Chinonye Akunne, and Deirdre Roberson — all accomplished women with advanced degrees in STEM fields — Motor City S.T.E.A.M offers one product The Lab Drawer™, a STEAM-related activity subscription service, which helps to fund the nonprofit's interactive learning programs. The three founders came to me through the Detroit Neighborhood Entrepreneurs Project (DNEP) hoping to increase monthly sales, expand reach into schools, and convert one-time purchasers into subscribers. In Fall 2019, they worked with my MKT 313: Consumer Behavior students to do just that. Check out the final project below!
